Proposed herein is the first phase of development toward an industry whereby communities produce and extract essential oils for use in high-value luxury goods like soaps. The structure envisioned is one where EWB assists communities in planting suitable plants such as Rosemary and Lavender and in setting up essential oil extraction stills. EWB-Unisa will then purchase the essential oils produced and incorporate them into cosmetic goods produced centrally in Lenasia.
