Stellenbosch University Alumni – Food Bank
Design, source and implementation of a giant, sustainable lunch box (container) on campus to encourage students, faculty and staff to donate non-perishable goods to help restock Stellenbosch Universities’ Food Bank.
Despite the recent announcement of a fee-free education system, caps on funding still exists. Shortfalls in funding are, as a result, leading to many students going hungry. EWB-Maties, along with Stellenbosch Alumni SA, and the SU100 committee are committed to finding ways to end student hunger at the university.
We are thus getting involved in an ALL NEW initiative on campus, Giving Day #Move4Food, to try raise awareness, funding and community engagement around the issue of hunger.
The lunchbox will not only serve as a mechanism to collect tangible food, but to be an eye-saw for change.
