As a society, we aim to uplift our community by eradicating problems that we find are detrimental to the growth of our nation. However, we noticed that we have been focusing primarily on problems the youth in our country are facing and not our community as a whole. This year we want to try help those who cannot help themselves: YES, DOGS.
EWB-Maties and Maties-Paw want to find something at the Animal Welfare Centre Stellenbosch that we believe, along with the management team, needs critical attention. We want to use our problem solving skills as members to
-find creative ways to combat the problem
-design a solution
-build it
-& then physically implement the designs into the animal shelter.
(such problems: rotting dog kennels, dirty water bowls, fencing falling apart etc)
Maties Paw will collaborate with us on the official opening / launch of the design in which a dog day will take place. Photos and a puppy kissing booth will be present and members will be able to walk the dogs around the vineyard and give them such extra TLC.
