Enactus Soap Plodder

This project involves the development of a soap plodder, for the Open Door Crisis Centre, that will be used for the production recycled bar soap from soap remains collected from local hotels, restaurants, homes. The idea has been developed by a group of ladies from a local community that would like to start a business out of this an EWB-UKZN will be working in assisting them in developing of a process for the sanitizing, compressing and shaping of sellable soap bars such that the process will provide room for mass producing while producing soap bars that are hygienic and aesthetically pleasing.

This project is a continuation from the previous year. This year the project focuses on the feasibility of the proposed design along with a costing analysis. A refinement of the proposed design is also to take place. Lastly, the soap plodder is to be manufactured possibly in the December holidays.
