We at EWB-TUT had a fun year yet a challenging one also.

In the beginning of the year together with GKSS team we hosted a Women in Tech event where we invited women from the industry to come share their work experience. We had people from IBM, Brain Gigaba, and also people from our ICT department just to name a few.

We later hosted a gaming 101 were the game nation and Geekulcha showered us with their presence. The aim of the event was to tell us about the careers within the gaming industry since some of us are doing games as a module. Freebies were given to members after the FIFA tournament just to keep everyone intrigued.

Some of the events were cancelled due to TUT strike which also interfered with our studies and the visit to Unity Secondary School due to fact that the school also experienced some challenges were learners were attacked by the community.

We were also involved with adopt a school which we are going to collaborate with one of the members for the career expo at Unity Secondary school.

Over all it was a tough but a great learning experience.
