    The event was organized by Engineers Without Borders-Sol Plaatje University and Geekulcha Student Society – Sol Plaatje University women and took place on the 25th of August 2018. The summit aimed to inspire, educate and connect girls and women to be highly active in Innovation, Entrepreneurship, Science and Technology, it championed Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship and enable female local female entrepreneurs with digital skills for their businesses.

    Young girls from high school were invited as they are the primary reason for the event, to inspire and encourage them to not be afraid of STEM and entrepreneurship. We are driven by the hope we fill their hearts. We continue to emphasize that the future is STEM because there are so many opportunities within the field and It is changing the world as we know it.

    We had amazing women as guest speakers at the summit, who are all from different industries. Masego Mosala spoke about Women in Entrepreneurship, Pelonomi Itumeleng covered the topic Women In leadership, Lebogang Madise enlightened us about how to Take Charge of Your Career, Tumi Mogodi spoke about the Importance of Women Empowerment and Eva Mamabolo spoke about Character Traits of Innovative Leaders.

    The summit also served as a platform for the NCDev Top 6 Women 2018 which gave honour to the Top 6 women recognized in the Northern Cape Developer Ecosystem and they are namely;

    • Eva Mamabolo, SPU lecturer
    • Feroza Nooroodien, SPU Student Affairs Administrator
